Hi, I’m Kara.

By day, I’m a Program Executive for Scouting America (Golden Gate Area Council), doing all the back-end admin that keeps the Camping and Outdoor Program running smoothly for Scouts in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In my free time, you can find me exploring interesting places, researching my next craft project, doing the daily crossword puzzle, and crocheting while cuddling with my cats.

My current crafty obsessions include crochet, dehydrating backpacking food, and attempting to keep a sourdough starter alive. Other recent projects have included leatherwork, chainmail/scalemail, woodwork, archery, and painting. I have a passion for learning new things.

In the past, I was a professional photographer for about 12 years, photographing weddings and portraits on film and in digital format throughout California and beyond. I still dabble in photography and enjoy 2nd-shooting weddings with friends a few times per year.

I am Mom to two boys, Reece (13) and Milo (11), two tuxedo cats (Penguin and Cookie), and 3 guinea pigs (Oreo, Mocha, and Cocoa).
